Review on πŸšͺ Pylex 11052 Sliding Gate Kit, Black: An Ultimate Solution for Effortless Gate Operation by Donna Maupin

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Almost, but not quite!

My husband and I became grandparents to the neighbors dog, a corgi mix who loves to sit on our patio. Unfortunately he is very outgoing and cannot be trusted to stay around. I was glad to find this pylex porch/deck railing gate kit at Revain, made with the metal spindles I have on my current deck. The instructions were easy to follow. Details are well done, well fired after completion, heavy and strong goal after completion. My only dissatisfaction is the lack of a handle for the outside of the gate. If you look at the pictures while walking up the steps there is nothing to hold onto to open the gate. There is a handle on the side of the gate. Of course the gate has to slide past the 4x4 post on the deck and that's one of the reasons I don't think the manufacturer designed anything. In our case I have couriers, neighbors and of course me and the pup climbing the steps to get to the patio. Almost perfect, but not quite. I found a pen with the same burned finish at Lowe's. I'll probably try this on a 2x4 that goes up and down when I apply some extra paint. All in all, this is a good set of goals.

Pros
  • Top marks for hold and durability from testers
Cons
