I am currently using air to grow hydro plants. I have used many different air pumps for marine reef maintenance in the past. I've been using hobby air pumps for almost forty years, so I think I might have some experience with air pumps. Now I have a 50 watt pump from another manufacturer for growing medicinal herbs. It produced enough air for 6 5 gallon buckets. It was never the quietest pump, but I had it hanging in my grow tent, so I didn't pay much attention to the noise. This went on for about a year before the airflow dropped and it got really loud. I needed a quick replacement and was looking for the best air pump for the money. This is highly recommended! I took a chance and ordered it. It arrived in 2 days (which couldn't be fast enough, the other pump was driving me crazy). I unpacked this baby and hooked it up. I connected it. I have not heard anything. I had to feel around the pump and check the buckets to make sure the thing was working and air was going into the buckets. This is by far the best pump I have ever used. I've had it for about a month and I couldn't be happier with it. I highly recommend this for small stature!
