I am using it full length 80" to cover an 84" opening. It works great! Two inches from the gate to the wall on each side of the gate is about the same distance as the distance between the vertical bars in the gate, so the dog doesn't even try to go around it. The package only makes up about 76 inches. (This keeps it from opening by sliding the center panel.) But the zip ties work great and are just as strong with zip ties on the 80" as they are with screws on the 76". And the height is slightly graduated. so I don't need to open the center wall at all. It can also be used on shorter lengths by removing one of the plates. I liked it so much that I immediately ordered a second one for a smaller hole in the same room. It's really beautiful and I highly recommend it.
