Don't trust the wire cutters in this one

I bought this as my top choice for a ceiling fan on the recommendation of a wire cutter and damn I regret it. For context: I'm a retired Navy electrician and have installed quite a few ceiling fans over the years. I'll start with a few positive things. The fan housing and reversible blades look solid and attractive, and look good on the ceiling. That's all. The gathering was terrible. Hard blade lock washers are too tight, so you should have very strong fingers to grip each screw that attaches each blade to the blade mounts, 3 for each blade, for a total of 5 blades. do it all I even tried putting them on each bolt with pliers instead, but that would break the washer in half before it came open, only working with very strong finger pressure could get them tightened without breaking. The mounting bracket that attaches to your ceiling junction box is very thin sheet metal, I'm sure it will hold the fan securely, but it seems odd that they skimp so much on the material of the most important part they are usually made of much thicker metal, especially since this fan also doesn't come with a braided steel strap that screws into the box like I'm used to with most ceiling fans. It's always a good idea to spin the fan motor before you assemble it and hang it up so you don't waste all that time on motor noise. There was no sound when spinning freely, but after hovering, the motor made click, click, click at all speeds. I even took it off and took it up to the motor to see if it was a wire or a loose screw, but that's in the motor assembly itself. So it's going back. Don't worry no matter what the walker says.
