Battery operated, good quality.
Worked great for the floating candle effect on our Harry Potter birthday with fishing line. They only turn on when the batteries are in and they screw on tight, so we screwed them on tight enough to hold the batteries and tightened them when it got dark. There was no timer, no remote control to control them. Just unscrew the bottom when we were ready to turn them off. But overall I'm satisfied.
