Review on HIYOYO Motorcycle Handguards Windshield Sportster by Jeffrey Shatzel

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Solid, just what I ordered

A good solid simple product. Works and does exactly what you expect. The paintwork could have been better, a glossy finish would have been more appropriate. Except that in the future it will need to be repainted after a season full of bugs. Keeps your fingers out of the cold wind without restricting movement like some of the molded plastic types. Not as big or chunky as the plastic ones, so don't expect to ride without gloves in sub-zero temperatures. Works great with heated grips. Installation is easy, recommend flange washers on both ends of your transom bolt as well as a new nut with fresh nylon to fill the slightly enlarged hole and hold it securely in place (threadlock not recommended as it is intended to be removed). in warm weather). Note that if you are using the FLHX/S or FLHTP with fairing mounted mirrors you will need to do a bit of work as these are designed to mount directly to the transom bolt and come with no additional hardware. Also, for regular handlebar mount mirrors, have some flange or lock washers handy, a cheap Harley lock ring is not reusable.

Pros
  • Fits 2007-2020 Harley Touring motorcycles and motorcycles with large switch housings; older FXR model with larger switch housings. (One of the handguards has a longer mounting tab that goes on the housing side and a short one on the brake side. If you are using 2014 or newer packers with a hydraulic clutch, the mounting tabs should not be different sizes. If you are not happy with how it is looks like you may need to change that long)
Cons
  • I don't remember
