Review on Waterproof Cold Weather Boot For Men By Kingshow (Model Number 1586) by Robert Demissie

These run big for my opinion

First, this boots have so far exceeded my expectations. I live on the coast in California, so snow boots aren't exactly a day to day need. I just needed something for the occasional trip to the mountains in the winter. These boots are massive. I have a short, wide, squarish foot with a high instep. I usually wear between an 8-1/2 and 9-1/2 depending on width, especially in the toe box. For comparison sake, I usually wear a 9-1/2 in most athletic shoes, even the New Balance extra wide widths. I ordered a 9-1/2 in these boots. It feels like I may have easily gone down to an 8-1/2, but it's hard to say without having the boot in my hands, so to speak. This boot is plenty wide for my wide foot. It is plenty tall for my high instep. It is very wide in the toe box. It is ridiculously long in the toes.I have only worn them in the office so far, trying to break them in a bit before the snow. I can not yet vouch for their effectiveness against the cold and wet. I will update after some experience. My one complaint so far is a bit of pinching when I take a step around the bottom of the laces. I'm not sure yet if it's because the boots are so big, or it's just the one and only flex point in the boot. I suspect with really thick socks (or two) and walking in the snow, this may not be a problem, but, again, we'll have to see.UPDATE: The boot held up well to the snow. It kept my feet warm and dry. Not complaints from that side. However, the pinching in the toe when the foot was flexed in mid-stride was annoying. It was reduced significantly by having two pairs of thick socks, but it was still noticeable. I was able to wear them throughout the day without any long term discomfort, but I found myself taking shorter strides to reduce the degree of flex. I am unsure if a smaller boot would have fixed this. Be conservative, try a smaller size, and your results might be better.Still 4 stars, though. The shoe appears well made (at least for a cheap Chinese boot) and it did it's job admirably, keeping my feet warm and dry.

Pros
  • They are highly practical, making them ideal for outdoor activities.
Cons
  • The boot may slip off the foot
