I was looking for an energy monitoring solution to replace the Blueline Energycloud device I had in my house. Blueline uses a power meter for monitoring, so it has no current transformers. It works fine but network connection drops, device discovery is useless and most importantly it has no API to access data. I argued between Sense, Emporia and Eyedro. In the end, I chose Eyedro because of the cost and support for local data access. So far I couldn't be happier! My house has a combined meter base/main panel, so installing current transformers around the incoming supply conductors is not easy. Right now I only have them in our main subpanel. I have emailed Eyedro Technical Support about the various current transformer options that will suit the incoming power rail. They responded very quickly and after a quick email exchange we found a solution within a few hours! I was able to integrate Eyedro into my Dakboard display so all family members can see our electricity consumption in real time. Work on getting the kids interested in keeping it green now!
