Revainrating 5 out of 5

Required update for managed sharpening system.

This is an upgrade/addition to this product Work Sharp WSGSS Guided Sharpening System This is not a separate item. The main enchantment system targeted by this update is explained below. I have owned the Work Sharp WSKTS-KT Knife and Tool Sharpener Field Kit for a number of years and after watching some videos of this Work Sharp guided sharpening. System Work Sharp WSGSS Guided Sharpening System online I found this very handy when camping or anywhere you have or don't have electricity and need to sharpen or re-cut your blade. When I bought the Work Sharp WSGSS guided sharpening system, I also bought an upgrade kit that included additional sharpening plates with a wider range of diamond grits and a leather dressing plate. Everything you need to keep your knives and other steel cutting edges razor sharp, including serrated knife blades and fish hooks. All this in a fairly sturdy box (approx. 10 x 8 x 3 inches) for less than $75. I find the quality, fit and finish to be of the highest quality. Plastic, it's durable and the nozzles snap securely into place. What you need when working with sharp objects. The sharpening plates are held in place by powerful magnets and stay in place during sharpening. This little workhorse with an aftermarket kit will make any decent knife razor sharp. This is not a kit I would recommend for repairing a chipped edge or point, although with enough time and patience it can be done. Check out this on electric belt sharpeners for the If you're wondering how long diamond coated blades last before they need to be replaced, I don't have the answer I've used this system on a couple knives almost every week for the last 8 or 9 Months. The super thin plate is probably used by 90% of me and it still goes strong. When all your knives are sharp, all you need is 3 to 10 strokes per side on an Extra Fine Buffing Plate and then 10 to 20 strokes per side on a good leather belt with Woodstock D2902 1-Pound Extra Fine Buffing. Compound, green, and you'll be able to shave well again. The diamond plate course is for fixing small dents or chips or for your friends super dull never sharpened 40 year old scout knife. turn anyone into a damn fine blade sharpener in no time. Find the blade design by following the prompts. The hardest part is maintaining the angle of the blade, and with patience and repeated slow movements, you'll develop muscle memory that becomes second nature. This isn't the place for sharpening classes, but if you're wondering why you should sharpen your knives, I can tell you that knife sharpening for me is relaxing and enjoyable, a kind of therapy. I no longer have a dull or badly sharpened knife. A dull knife that forces you to make sharp cuts is very dangerous for the user. Once you've mastered your technique, you'll keep a box of magazines, junk mail, and brochures out of reach so you always have paper to test the sharpness of your knives. They will also answer questions about why you have bald spots on your arms and legs where you shaved your body hair. (trust me on this one) All of these Work Sharp options are serious sharpeners for those who want to get insanely sharp knives. However, if I could only choose one sharpening system, it would have to be this upgrade kit. This is a fully assembled, compact, high quality, low maintenance, versatile sharpener that you can take with you. At home, at work, camping, powered or unpowered, deep in the woods or on your porch with a hamburger and beer, you've got everything you need in one light and small package. Highly recommended (Last note if you're buying an electric. Spend the extra money if possible and get a Work Sharp WSKTS-KO Ken Onion Edition Knife & Tool Sharpener, wider straps, extra attachments, better angle guides, overall more versatile)
