This mandolin has four strength settings. You can cut wafer-thin vegetables at the finest level. And at the highest setting, your slices will be no thicker than 1/8 inch. That's not enough for many of my recipes. Every other mandolin I've used will cut food 1/4 inch thick. Thickness aside, it's sharp enough. But she feels weak. This mandolin has been sitting in a kitchen drawer for months. I just used it again today, and was reminded that it doesn't cut veggies as thick as I'd like. After I was done with that, I threw it in the trash can.
