Great shade at inexpensive price but not great material

I give this item an overall rating of 3 stars. My husband had no problem installing it and did it in an hour. It provides excellent shade at a inexpensive price. The only downfall is the fabric stretches extensively with wind and rain and results in sagging. After a few days after installing, my 6 foot husband could not walk under it without his head touching it. It started out with at least 2 foot of clearance. We have a low roof line and it is attached to it at 3 corners and to a wooden post at the 4th corner. At first, we thought it was the strings used to attach it that were stretching. We Replaced the strings with chains and it would still sag after a day or two. We are planning on elevating the fourth corner several feet higher on the post to see if this will allow us room to walk under it without our heads touching but haven’t had a chance yet. Hopefully this will allow head room because we have really enjoyed the shade it provides.Update:Raising to 4 stars. After raising the 4th corner several feet higher on the post, it has helped significantly. The material has stretched with the weight of rain and wind, but we have plenty of head space. This has lasted for several weeks. In hindsight, when installing leave plenty of room for material stretching.

Pros
  • Durable
Cons
  • May require additional support poles for larger areas
