FIRE HAZARD - DO NOT BUY IF YOU LIVE IN AN OLD HOUSE. about two feet away to flicker when I type something. I live in an old house from the 50's and I don't think our outlets are rated for a device that draws that much power. Another terrible thing about this printer is that the power button never worked right out of the box. It was difficult to add paper because the paper trays are stacked on top of each other at the bottom of the machine. I always pulled out the wrong tray. Six months later he died completely and I got an HP Officejet 3830 which is quiet, doesn't use much power and has a working on/off switch.
