Couldn't get it to work - stuck in the corner of the hinge

There is a lip that slides over the long edge of the door and then the ledge almost snaps into place. The hem is very thin and it is difficult to keep the strip in the right position to keep the lip from curling. The ribbon is actually quite thick, so it's hard to pierce. The nails need to be inserted between the ribs and it is almost impossible to get nails (not included) flush with the bottom of the door as the ribs are stiff enough that a hammer blow won't drive the nails all the way in. . I tried turning the fins but my fingers were right next to the nail so the hammer head couldn't hit the nail without hitting my fingers. When I finally managed to get the nails flush (I only cursed twice) and put my heavy front door back on the hinges (help, mate!), I quickly found that the molding on the hinge side/corner was closed was thick because the ribs do not lie flat there, but are folded almost on top of each other. (Not sure if that makes sense!) The problem wasn't that the gap was too narrow for the strip. The problem was that the plastic/rubber material that makes up the ribs got caught in the corner of the hinge. Note that the strip was exactly the same length as my door - it wasn't too long. I tried cutting it off but that left a gap at the bottom of the door - that was the problem I was trying to solve. Maybe my door is broken and you will be fine, but I have found that this product cannot be used and after being cut and nailed it is impossible to return.
