Review on UTM/MGRS Coordinate Scale for Military-Grade MapTools by Jason Childs

Revainrating 2 out of 5

The cuts are not good in my book

to use the protractor for land navigation. I'm reluctant to return it, it would be a great educational resource. In addition, the print on the protractor is sharp and bold. And the material feels in the right balance of stiffness and flexibility. THE BAD: If you look at the images, the triangular cuts aren't at 90° and therefore match up with one grid square but not the other, meaning that depending on where you draw your dot, there will be a East/West Deviation gives how far up the triangle you are drawing. Ironically, this is most noticeable at the two smaller scales, where it's most noticeable. This is already a moderately low accuracy tool, you certainly don't want this error to increase your potential deviations. In some situations there can be a difference between life and death. Anyway I want you to like it, it's well done apart from the bad cuts.
