I bought a router because I was tired of cutting dados with a circular saw. I needed beats so I decided to try these. First bits I ever used so I have no comparison but they cut through plywood with no problem (I made sure to cut in two passes) and were the perfect width. We'll see if I like them as much in a year, but I suspect they'll suit me quite well for a hobby carpenter. Attention: The end of the bit is very tight against the plastic housing. I tried to pull one out with my hands and got a nasty cut in the process. Use a piece of wood or whatever to use them with so you don't end up like me!
