The water in my house is hard and chlorinated, so I always find it difficult to prepare water for fish. I'm not expectant so I need things like that to make things easier. Instead of adding ammonia, which scares the hell out of me, and letting the tank run fine, I add it, then check after 24 hours and while two tanks have water tests perfect except for hardness and pH. This product isn't designed for that, so it's not surprising. But it's nitrites and nitrates that I've always had issues with and that fixes that and removes the chlorine as well. Adding fish after 24 hours is very easy. I'm not sure I'll even have to wait that long, but I have to. I set up my tank and the next day if the test shows it's good I take the fish and put them in a few at a time. I have Pecilia in 10 gallons and they are breeding like crazy which is a good sign of the water condition. I have tried other quick start meds and this is the best in my opinion.
