I worked in a restaurant and always carried a regular food thermometer with me. They were simply designed and worked. The Regetek thermometer is well made. It has a nice plastic probe cover that snaps onto the thermometer for storage. The probe itself is quite long for large cuts of meat (pork, roast, etc.). The tip of the probe is quite pointed/sharp for easy penetration into flesh, so be careful not to prick yourself with it. This is the first digital thermometer I've ever owned and I love the instant temperature readout. I can check the temperature of the meat in the smoker and close the door much faster. Very good!
