Review on ⚙️ MOOG K9818 Ball Joint: Enhanced Performance and Durability for Optimal Functionality by Julius Robinson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Should have looked at them better when I got them.

Received fairly quickly but due to a change in work schedule and then due to the fact that the car's gearbox failed (under warranty on the refurbished unit) I just had to look after them carefully to look for, prepare to install later this week. It didn't help that one of my kids put them aside and I couldn't find them for a while. Long story short, I ONLY found out that while the joints they sent us are interchangeable, they are COMPLETELY different. Both have the same part number and UPC on the box but the boxes are different and one is made in Japan the other is made in Korea. The Korean-made block is clearly MUCH inferior to the Japanese-made block - they even have a different design. In fact, there is NOTHING on the Korean-made device that would identify it as a Moog branded part, but the Japanese device certainly was. And it was MUCH heavier and stronger. When I ordered these, I expected the devices to be made in Japan, but I received one of each. By the time I discovered and tested it, it was too late to return the Korean block and exchange it for another Japanese-made one. So hopefully it will last and hold up under the pressure while keeping up with the Japanese brand. The time will show. So Emptor's word of caution - if you order them, check them carefully.

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Largely ok but...
