This has skyrocketed our joy of kiting. The ease with which we can both release and reel in the line allowed us to use less force and have fewer knots and stretches. The clasp takes some getting used to and may require a sure instinct or two hands at first. We have several different brands and the ones with padlocks are very similar to this one. Although its implementation is good. Sizing is slightly smaller than others we have which is fine for my wife's smaller arms but a bit tight for my "slightly" thicker and wider arms. One recommendation is to have a place to hang the leash when not in use, or to tie the leash in a knot so that the hook is fully retracted where the lock engages. The problem with the latter option is that the line may not always retract to the same length due to tension and stretch during retraction.
