Review on AC Infinity AIRPLATE Cooling Cabinets Computer Components by Michael Jennings

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This review focuses on 80mm S1 fans. Works great, but don't expect miracles.

My media cabinet is a closed cabinet with two shelves and sliding glass doors. Looks good but definitely not designed to house electronic devices. Well I have a DirecTV set top box with a video bridge, a panamax power conditioner, a Marantz AVR, a PS4, an Outlaw audio amplifier and an Oppo Bluray player. I usually leave the doors open but recently my DirecTV box had an issue and had to be replaced which I think could be heat related. adequate airflow with two sets of inlets at the bottom and two sets of outlets at the top. First pluses: very well packaged. Each fan comes in an individual box with power plug, instructions, fan template and accessories. Even better customer service. Before I bought the fans I emailed support with some general questions. I got a quick reply from Andrew and since then we have emailed at least 12 times and he has been patient, supportive and helpful every step of the way. Between packaging and customer service, it is clear that AC Infinity cares about its products and its customers. The fans can be daisy chained, up to 6 fans on one outlet or 4 on a single USB. The fans also have individual speed controllers, but when connected in series they all sync their speed to the "master" speed controller. Fans move quite a lot of air. by 25%), the fans are unbearably loud. Maybe I'm just sensitive to them, but I can't take them highly. Since I can't run them on High, I keep them on Medium, which now means I'm not getting the most efficient cooling. Overall, I highly recommend these fans. They are well made and AC Infinity's customer service is top notch. **Update: I put an Airplate s6 cooler on top of my Marantz receiver and now that it's on Auto and the S1 fans are set to medium speed everything stays cool. and the fans are almost inaudible.
