I've got the stuff for a little over a month, but with very hard water a month is enough for the calcium rings to be in the bowl and the calcium on the parts sticks in the tank and it doesn't happen. I'm not sure what exactly it does? The water in the tank is not transparent, are there all these floating particles, but they don't stick to the walls or working parts of the tank? As a magnet potentially altering the minerals, they are there but washed away. I have bathrooms that I rarely use so I keep an eye on them and flush them every few days - with the ones that are used daily I don't see the same situation in the aquarium what I see is the white solid calcium for everything! At this point I would say that they are very helpful for my needs. Over the years I've tried dishwasher detergent, vinegar, fabric softener (in tanks) don't use vinegar except to sit in the toilet as both the dishwasher detergent and dishwasher detergent contain an acid that will attack the seals in the tank - just so She knows!
