Review on Smart Remote Yandex with Alice, black by Jnis Griis ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

One of the best deals, glad I bought this.

The functionality of the device embodied all the bold and not so dreams of such a miracle. I have been buying programmable remotes for many years, I hate to keep several pieces, some of which are for the sake of 2-3 buttons. With the advent of digital TV set-top boxes with their own unique remotes, it got even worse. Who remembers - there used to be a decent choice of learning remotes, one Rotel was worth it! Even processed macros, any sequence of buttons. True, it cost about 400 euros. He lived with me for 13 years, until the display went out from falling and the nasty cats bit through all the buttons. And modern 1000-ruble notes are not something to take in your hand - it’s a shame to bring home. Teaching all family members to switch TV inputs is torture. A human cub enters any room - immediately clings to the TV via ChromeCast and turns on the broadcast from the phone, then throws the TV in this state. I already wanted to order posters of a couple of square meters from the printing house with instructions for my wife on how to return to the air and especially how to switch to the Beeline prefix. Satan-washer only does not cook breakfast, everything else is done! Macro commands - happiness! With one voice command, I launch the set-top box and switch the TV input, channels, I can even turn on the recording of the desired program, being far from home. I put remotes at the air conditioners - there is no limit to convenience at all! Start / shutdown by timer, turned on from the application an hour before arriving home, arrived - happiness! And how lazy at night, when you went too far with the coolness, to reach for the remote control, realizing that you can wake up and never fall asleep again . it’s much easier to say a few words. One thing is bad . at home, devices that can be controlled via IR have run out, everything is tied. And the euphoria must be fueled with something!

Pros
  • Compact, not bulky. Well thought out power cord entry. It will please those who have accumulated a bag of microUSB chargers at home, but it was a pity to throw it away - only a very short and hard cord is included. The setup is a little more difficult than a sneeze. Pay attention right away - the remote control only works with a 2.4 network! If you have WiFi 2.4 and 5 GHz at home, before setting up the remote control from the application, transfer the phone to the 2.4 network, the remote control will correctly pick up the settings. I have an ASUS AiMesh network, the remote control easily "sat" on the repeater behind two concrete walls in the back room and worked fine, but I still added a point next to the Station and the remote control and forcibly tied it to it. I did not use the library of built-in codes, I taught the necessary commands directly from the consoles. Macro commands (running several commands in a certain sequence) are implemented extremely conveniently - when creating a "Script" it is enough to check the boxes in the settings in front of the commands that you really want to execute together. Delight! For example, "Alice, turn on such and such Beeline channel" starts the TV, switches it to the desired input and selects the desired channel. Particularly pleased - the remote control is "behind" the console, out of sight of the front panel, but the commands pass flawlessly! Visually, the first impression - in bourgeois films about Jedi / spies / supermen, the hero threw something similar in shape and size to the floor, it beeped like an ancient modem, opened, cracked safes, killed all enemies, paid the utility bill, poisoned cockroaches, folded and jumped back into the owner's pocket.
Cons
  • A very slippery polished ring at the bottom (sealed with a transport film, removed the film) - several attempts to somehow fix it on the surface with expensive and high-quality double-sided tape from different companies were unsuccessful. Maybe you shouldn't have removed the film? As a result, the remote control "creeped" to the edge of the shelf from the vibration of the Station's subwoofer and the cats stubbornly tried to throw it off. Solved the problem by fixing the power cord.
