Poor quality camera

I bought this full HD camera to replace the standard definition camera built into my laptop. When I turned it on, the picture quality was WORSE than my standard definition camera. I adjusted all the settings because I thought you can improve the picture - NO. It's just a terrible webcam. I bought another HD webcam for my daughter's laptop. When I tried this webcam on my laptop, the picture was flawless. I tried this webcam again and again the picture quality is poor.
