Review on Sanding Detailer Standard Kit - Coarser Grits, Pack of 24 by Stephen Schmidt

I use these grinding rods when assembling plastic models to get into hard to reach places and corners. They are about the size of a standard ink pen (6.25 x 25 inches) and are comfortable to hold. Their stable design provides more precision and control. The sticks are spring loaded and hold the sanding belts in place with tension. The straps can be switched or rotated forward by pushing in on the top of the handle. My order consisted of 20 belts. I also use a different brand of sharpening rod (Excel Hobby) and the belts appear to be interchangeable. I would recommend using this type of sharpening rod for precision sharpening only. They can be used for regular heavy grinding, but the belt will need to be rotated frequently.
