Review on 🖤 OXO Good Grips Silicone Sink Strainer: Maximizing Efficiency in Black by Pete Deutsch

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Don't buy this if you want your water to drain before next week.

So after twenty years of cheap metal filters I thought I'd decided to try this signature OXO jobber. Mistake. After six months of trying to figure out what we're doing wrong that it doesn't drain well, it ends up in the trash and I buy two packs of cheap metal filters. I really hate stuff like that because I really hate waste. But I can't think of a single thing that would be good other than torturing the innocent with sinks incredibly slowly. I have a double kitchen sink. On the right, I most commonly use a cheap metal screen. We put OXO on the left. It just didn't flow right from the start, even if it wasn't filled with God knows what. Even if it's completely empty. Hole area is clean. And the water seeps very slowly. Now life is short and time is money (or maybe time is too valuable to waste waiting for my damn shell to empty?), but whatever the reason, I've got enough in the at the hands of name brand drain filters and I'm going back to cheap earth. Save your money, buy 2 packs of cheap hard rim strainers that lean away from the drain. Seven dollars. Just don't buy.

Pros
  • Dishwasher safe
Cons
  • Not all will fit
