I've been working on flip books with my 9yo and 7yo. As a bit of advice, I HIGHLY recommend searching for a tutorial video before you dive in - there's a ton out there, and they're especially helpful in learning how to actually do this well. My 9yo had a blast with it - he's made at least two books so far and he loves the magic of making still pictures animated. My 7yo has had a little more of an issue as she can't draw and manipulate pictures (yet) as she would have liked to have done. I've had a personal load of fun in just making things with it too. The light pad is spot on, and the paper that comes along with the package is really nice. Altogether, so worth grabbing as a rainy-day experiment and activity.
