We live in Southwest Florida and we have hurricane proof doors that are thicker than standard doors. This wreath hanger easily adjusts to the thickness of the door and will not damage the door. It's also adjustable in length, which is necessary since the doors are 8 feet tall. We were impressed with the durability of this hanger. This is the first adjustable hanger that truly holds the length perfectly. There is felt padding on the temple but I added extra to accommodate the lens insert. UPDATE: After about a year, the pins on the back holding the hanger in place on the active door bent and blocked closing. We don't use the front door that often. The mount on the inactive door was ok. I had to replace the bent one. Still better than the holders attached to the glass from a well-known company. This went on for a week on the active door.
