I am looking after a 35 year old. An old flea bit a gray Arabian horse bitten to death by flies in Southern California. Most of the people in my stable wear Kensington fishnet boots, but they're too big for this little gelding. I have had many comments from people in the stable that the fleece in these boots is unsuitable for our sometimes 100+ degree temperatures. I've researched online and am confused with about 50-50 reviews saying they are too hot/not too hot. I decided to try it myself and was quite willing to give it up if his feet got sweaty or hot. I put them on him for several hours at over 100°C (with humidity). After guiding it on my hands, I took off my boots and checked. Sweating is zero, fleece is dry, feet are at normal temperature. I can't speak for other reviewers who vehemently insist they are too hot to wear in hot climates. I can only say that they are a godsend for this little horse. The boots stay on foot, don't roll or chafe, provide excellent protection against flies and are always NOT too hot in hot weather. I love her very much, like the old Arab.
