Needs adjustment

I thought everything was fine but after a few days I found that the spring tension was loose. Then I adjusted by moving the rod another notch. A few days later I had to do it again because the air pressure differences didn't give a positive conclusion. Don't lose the little chrome handle either. I left it next to the long white handle on the first hole so as not to lose it. Standing in the hallway, so not very conspicuous. But now I have a door that closes by itself so I don't have to worry as much about someone leaving the door open except maybe on very windy days. The only downside is that at this level of tension the door tends to slam harder than I'd prefer, but it's better than not closing. dry run. So the squeak is only when you pull, so I'd recommend applying some lube before attaching it to the door if the noise bothers you. Addendum: After the last tightening, the spring burst inside, which was obvious as I happened to be nearby and heard a loud click. I had to reconfigure. More updates: Seems to be about a couple of weeks before spring hits. Two 1/4 turns does not have enough tension to securely close the door. It actually takes 3 1/4 turns, but that's too much for a spring. So I have to find an alternative. This can work well for a lightweight door that doesn't have to deal with air pressure to hold the door open. Last update: seems like the spring has failed. Now there is no hope of improvement.
