Read this review first

Read it first as it has nothing to do with a nasty seller or a product that won't connect to your home wifi. In my opinion, such things have nothing to do with the product itself. The lack of home Wi-Fi connectivity may or may not have something to do with the product. I generally assume that "this isn't working on my wifi" really means "I'm new to tech and couldn't figure out how to add it to my wifi". If you generally know what you're doing then this review will give you what you really need to know. There's a remote that generally works as expected and has the basic functionality you'd expect. It has an additional mouse function that you can enable. This can be useful depending on the application you are using. What it CANNOT do is turn on the device. The power button is only used to turn off the projector. You can only turn it on on the device itself by holding the power button for a few seconds. Likewise, there is no option to restart. Turn it on via the device or turn it off via the remote control. That's it.2. It's a very basic Android operating system, so don't expect all the features you would expect from a regular smartphone. The App Store is also very basic with a limited number of apps available. There are popular streaming apps (Netflix et al.) that I think are more than enough, which is fitting considering it's a projector and not a tablet.3. We're having trouble with the YouTube app. It blocks and falls. A lot of. Pretty annoying considering we use it a lot. Once it starts freezing, your only option is to turn it off (via the remote) and then turn it back on (via the projector). Disappointing.4. Battery life is terrible, even at the lowest lamp brightness. They can usually be used for about 1/2 hour on battery only. We were hoping to take him on camping trips to watch scary movies in the woods. What a crap. Plan on leaving it on most of the time for everyday use like watching movies and the like. Overall I think most people will be happy with it. The picture isn't super high definition, but it's not frail either. In addition, you can purchase a projector screen up to 150 inches and the image will fill the entire room. Pretty cool for a mini projector at this price point.

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
