I use this in a batch of traditional (ie unflavored) mead, which should come out strong and dry, with EC-1118 added to four pounds of honey and enough water to make about to make gallons . Introduced in the morning, including a teaspoon of Fermax. From the middle of the evening there wasn't much going on, but the next morning and for several days since then it was bubbling and smelling pleasantly of yeast. Well, this is *not necessarily* related to those nutrients, but it seems that this honey-heavy mix (in fact, its *measured* specific gravity is actually much higher than expected) can stress the yeast and lead to low productivity (from what I see not), *in the absence of nutrients*. So when in doubt, I'll agree with him. :-) In terms of usability, the packaging seems great for those who brew enough to use it quickly, but that's not me. A reusable bag would be an improvement - I now have it in a quarter ziploc bag.
