A few notes.1. If you're buying your first safety razor, this isn't the one you want. Start with R89.2. This is not an R41 Grande, so the grip is shorter than usual. I have big hands and haven't had any problems. I bought this as my first safety razor. after a little more digging I settled on the R89 as well. I left with the expectation that I would eventually grow up and want a more aggressive shave. When I finally felt ready to use it, I wasn't disappointed with the results. While I love the R89 and will continue to use it, with the R41 the areas of my face and head that would normally require additional passes were gotten right the first time. Extremely accurate and thorough. While users should respect the aggressiveness of this blade, I still find some of the reviews over the top. With this razor, it is absolutely necessary to lubricate your face thoroughly and regularly and to let the weight of the handle do its work. If you don't, this pen will teach you how to relax quickly. I cannot recommend this pen enough, but I would like to warn you again that the user is better off with it if they are experienced enough in their DE shaving technique. It's not rocket science, but first a few weeks with a less aggressive grip. Enjoy.
