Perfect replacement for my Grohe Bridgeford faucet

I noticed my 6 year old Grohe Bridgeford faucet was starting to leak around the handle. I did a google search and found it was cartridge related and needed to be replaced. With further google searching I found that the cartridge part number for this faucet is 46048000. This particular faucet model has been discontinued, but replacement parts are still available. I found a plumbing store that had this part, but on a whim I decided to give Revain a try. lo and behold, here in the sanitary trade for half the price. The relatively low price was surprising as the cost of the faucet was very high. This is a Grohe OEM replacement, so no problem here. For the most part, the cartridge is exactly the same as the one I'm replacing. However, my faucet had a rubber O-ring and this replacement model had a plastic grommet. No problem - I just reused my old o-ring. The exchange was very easy and I took a lot of my time. I didn't take pictures, but it was necessary to remember the exact position of the handle before starting. But it only slowed me down for a minute or so. You will need a Phillips screwdriver and a 2.5mm allen key. You must also turn off the water that is being fed to that faucet. Took me 30 minutes by my estimate (I was just being extra careful and inspecting every detail, checking fit, position, cleaning reusable parts, etc.). If I had to do it all over again I would do it in 15 minutes now that I know what to do. I have another faucet like this at home and if I were smart I would buy another faucet for this faucet just in case (although the cartridge may need to be replaced at some point in the future due to daily use).
