WOW! This is AMAZING hand embroidery material! I had serious doubts about this product, having previously tried "tear off" type products (where you iron-on embroidery designs for use on dark fabrics). The problems I encountered have a lot to do with my embroidery style which is very detailed and very tightly closed. The tear off products ended up getting stuck in my embroidery, which would have required hours of tedious plucking to separate the tiny scraps of white fabric from the finished designs. Sticky Fabri-Solvy is SO EASY to use and opens up a WORLD of creative possibilities! Literally: the whole world! First you find a design, what you like (or draw it yourself directly on Fabri-Solvy). You then use your inkjet printer to print the design at any size. I was afraid of how it would come through my cheap little printer, but I had no problems. To be on the safe side, I set the printer to "heavy paper". Third, peel off the backing and stick directly to your work surface (I had a denim jacket). Embroider your design. This product also makes layering stitches much easier as it has a canvas-like texture. When you've finished your project, place it in warm water and watch the magic happen! This product just dissolves! My project had the entire back of a denim jacket. Fabri-Solvy stayed in place very well throughout the project. I had absolutely no trouble removing Fabri-Solvy when I finished my project, despite the LOTS of tight satin stitches. It completely dissolved in about 3 minutes after soaking. Someone mentioned that their needle got sticky while working. In the 2 months of working on this project I had to clean the needle twice with a cotton pad and alcohol. I have actually found that this is not a problem. Fabri-Solvy has definitely changed my embroidery experience for the better! I can embroider ANY design from ANY source onto ANY shade of fabric.
