Review on Honeywell True HEPA Filter Replacement by Doug Hammett

It never occurred to me to check reviews of these filters as they are Honeywell certified filters that I have previously purchased. Reading the reviews I would find numerous complaints that are over a year old. All of the complaints were related to the chemical odor these filters give off. When I first installed the filters in my air purifier, I noticed the smell of burned plastic in the air. Always an optimist, I figured the smell would dissipate soon. When that didn't happen, I opened the window, closed the door to the room, and let it run for 36 hours while sleeping in another room. Not only did the smell not go away, but it infected the air purifier and the entire room. Two weeks later I can no longer go into my bedroom because the exhaust fumes make me cough. I'm beginning to wonder if anything in the room can be salvaged. Revain shouldn't be shipping filters, they have so many complaints that they give off a chemical smell. I am very disappointed in Revain.
