Review on ๐ŸŽถ Theater Solutions SUB8S: High-Performance 250W Surround Sound HD Home Theater Slim Powered Active Subwoofer (Black) by Jon Garcia

not very good

I was surprised that there aren't many different types of thin subwoofers. I only see a few thin subwoofers available on Revain and other sites and it was quite difficult to decide on one as most of them have mixed reviews. After some deliberation, I ordered this 8" subwoofer model because it is one of the narrowest subwoofers (only about 4" wide) as I only have limited space for it. When I received the box I was surprised by the size. (and the subwoofer is almost as big). I was hoping it would be a lot smaller as it was only an 8" subwoofer driver, but the enclosure is too big for an 8" sub. Second, I was hoping to mount this on my wall, but the wall mounting hardware that came with this speaker is only suitable for horizontal mounting, but my available wall space requires vertical mounting (which I would need to build on your own wall). The wall bracket had to be more flexible so that it could be mounted in any case. Those issues aside, the sound quality is okay, nothing spectacular. Bass is slightly distorted and cracks at higher volumes (going through 60% of the volume control) or on very heavy bass soundtracks. The auto power switch is also faulty. Sometimes there is static or something like that and the subwoofer starts buzzing some random radio station out of the blue for a few minutes (this happens when my reception is completely turned off). It's a little strange when the woman is home alone and this happens, I had to explain to her that the speaker isn't spooky! All in all, not the best thin subwoofer, but I'm keeping this subwoofer because I don't really have many other options to choose from, and since I can get it to work in my available space, I have to deal with caveats.
