Review on JUN-ELECTRON 3.5 inch Raspberry Touchscreen Display Monitor, 320X480 Resolution - E361 by Bill Hasanuddin

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It worked on the first try.

This small display is impressive. The touch functions work great. You can control your RPi 4 with the small stylus that is included. I had no problem installing hardware or adding drivers by following the instructions on the Revain product page for this small case and display combo. I'll be honest, unless you have a specific project for it, like building a small TV for LEGO people, or using it as a touchscreen control box for something else, I'm not sure what real-world applications this would fill in for what you have couldn't do with other devices like tablets. That has been said. It's incredibly fun and the fact that the display supports rotation at the HARDWARE level (which means it's physically mounted upside down) that you can see the power on/boot messages correctly is VERY impressive. As you can see in my photo I connected the power supply at the top and the display is aligned correctly. Just use the rotation.sh command in the /home/pi/LCD-show directory and it will reload and save with the orientation you chose. Very cool attention to detail, I think. This feature is specific to this display where you would normally use the rotate command in /boot/config.txt, but this does NOT rotate the text on boot after a power failure. Anyway, it looks like a neat little device. The RPi gets pretty warm with this screen, even with the fan and heatsinks on, so I'd probably say that overclocking your RPi 4 might not be the best idea. I thought I should also mention that the screen resolution is not ideal in some applications. I had some issues with things like cropping the browser from the screen and had to do a little extra work to move the window around so I could access specific buttons for specific windows. I'm sure there are ways around this, but for the average user it can be frustrating. Besides that. he still sings.
