Review on πŸ”§ Milescraft 1207 Design/Inlay Kit: Precision Router Template Jig for Impeccable Results by Anthony Lopez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Incredibly rich. Amazing

Wanted to make a heart shaped inlay on a newly made walnut countertop and after researching how much the heart shaped inlay template itself costs (at least $12-$20 in woodcraft), plus a good inlay and administration ( $42 for a set of Whiteside Router Bits 9500 solid brass inserts) thought this set of multiple templates and bits would be a good deal. After playing with it for a few days, this set took me into a world of things I never thought of. , got me excited. I bought the Whiteside kit above when I found that MIlescraft would be difficult to use with my other smaller router (the big one is a Bosch B1450 and the smaller one is a DWP611, the Whiteside rail fits the DW base perfectly). The heart insert (1/8" thick purple heartwood) has yet to be placed on the table top, but has already been cut figured on one of the table's "legs", saved Whiteside for finishing (heard those solid carbides are brittle). , many broke them on the very first project, I seem very neat and happy, I still have both bits, even after several learning cycles, even in 1/8" thick hardwoods like Bloodwood and Purple Heart, plus 1/4 thick Poplar .Four stencils with multiple design shapes allow for many different designs, laces and cutouts.Definitely plan to use it in the future but also for my only occasion.Worth buying, consider educational value as well.
