Advanced Full-Color Night Vision Camera: Good Quality, Some Flaws

The VD-2T49-AS camera boasts some impressive features, including full-color night vision, POE and MicroSD recording capabilities, a built-in mic, and IP67 outdoor protection. The camera is also compatible with Dahua systems, which is a bonus for those who use that brand. The image quality of the camera is very good overall, and the full-color night vision is a definite plus. The camera also has a wide 2.8mm lens, which provides a good field of view. The built-in mic is handy for picking up audio in addition to video. However, there are some flaws with this camera. First, the setup process can be quite challenging, especially for those who are not experienced with setting up surveillance cameras. The included documentation is not very helpful, and some users have even had to seek out additional support from the manufacturer or third-party resources. Second, the POE and MicroSD recording features are not as reliable as they should be. Some users have reported that the camera fails to record, or that recordings are lost or corrupted. This is obviously a significant problem for any surveillance system. Finally, the camera's design is somewhat bulky and not very discreet. Depending on where you want to install it, this could be an issue. Overall, the VD-2T49-AS is a decent camera with some nice features. However, the flaws with setup and recording reliability prevent me from giving it a higher rating. If you are willing to put in extra effort to get it working and don't rely on it for critical surveillance, it could be worth considering.

Pros
  • Durable and Weather-Resistant: Featuring an IP67 rating, this outdoor camera is highly durable and can withstand tough weather conditions, ensuring reliable performance in a range of environments
Cons
  • Users may find it challenging to set up the camera if they are not tech-savvy, leading to incorrect installation and ineffective surveillance
