First I tested it in plain water and the color really changed to a deep rust. Black. So I'm assuming something "is working". My main problem is that the ionic part that is in the water immediately became very rusty. There's no good way to clean it, it's just caked with rust. I tried to scrub and dry it as best I could but it only rusted over what I had scraped off. Not exactly what I want to take a footbath in... Is that possible? I still have no idea. Will I continue to use it despite rust? probably no. I suggest if you want one of these either get the better one or skip it and save money.
