I got these headphones for perhaps a unique reason: I wanted to play my digital piano with headphones, but I still wanted to know what was going on around me. They serve that purpose well - I can hear what I'm playing and also hear if someone comes up behind me or if I need to pay attention to something else in the room. I also have a few other bone conduction headphones. One is a basic pair in the $30 range and the other is a pair of HUHD headphones with a transmitter that doubles as an audio amplifier. Bone conduction headphones never offer the best sound quality (that's not their primary purpose), but the other two pairs sound a lot better than these. I compared this pair of headphones to my $30 pair, while listening to a few different types of music and they were substandard across the board. Even with earbuds on, the sound is muddy and words difficult to understand on these headphones, but very clear on the other two pairs. When connected to my digital piano, the low notes (e.g. just an octave or two below middle C) in the headphones vibrate against my head and the mid-high notes sound very harsh. It's also hard to hear if I'm playing up or down, which isn't usually a problem with my Roland digital piano, whether I'm using its speakers or a pair of wired headphones. This pair also doesn't fit very snugly on my head and will likely move around a bit if I try to wear them during activity - just turning my head is enough, to move it a little. It's possible to connect another pair of Bluetooth headphones to this transmitter, so I figured I'd just do that and then the functionality of the transmitter would be better than other headphones. Unfortunately I was wrong. I was able to connect the transmitter to other headphones with no problem, but when I went to play I noticed a slight delay between the button press and its sound in the headphones. For listening to music that wouldn't be a problem, but for watching videos and definitely trying to play the piano it could be a problem. That lag doesn't exist when using these headphones with their transmitter, so I figured I'd just have to put up with the poor sound and practice with them. Overall I would recommend them for TV, and then the functionality of the transmitter is better than other headphones. Unfortunately I was wrong.
