Motion detection anomalies

Motion sensor radar works great in the garage. You may think that the direction is simply down and out, but that's not the case. It's also rising. If you place a lamp under a living area (e.g. living room, dining room, etc.) and walk over it, it lights up. You wouldn't know this unless you were like me and had a camera system in your garage so you could see for yourself. I got some reflective tape, stuck it on a piece of styrofoam and hung it over the light source. I then took some reflective tape and placed it over the light in a 4' x 4' square and it seemed to work (most of the time). Another thing is that it goes through walls. I walk down the stairs and halfway down the light comes on. It doesn't affect me because I still go to my garage. You don't want the radar to pick up movement above it. This saves electricity costs and extends the life of the lamp.
