Wired headphone plug broke in my laptop 6 months ago. I called the repair shop and was told it would cost at least $50 with no guarantees that it would work and I had to leave my laptop at their shop. I finally got the name of the tool, but I didn't have high expectations after paying less than $10 for it. After two attempts, my laptop was freed from the broken headphone jack and I had full sound again. I gently tapped the tool with a hammer and then clamped it with pliers. It didn't come out all the way, but I was able to grab the protruding bit with my fingers. Yes, this tool works! I removed the broken plug myself without going to the store to get OVERPAID for the task. which took less than five minutes! This one came with two tools and a small screwdriver. The tool used is bent and probably not reusable. But I still have a second instrument if I ever release one. Thanks for a GREAT product! if I ever publish one.
