My ex couldn't cook a roast to save her life. I don't know why I thought I could, but turns out I can toast bliss. As a frame of reference (and to learn from my experience) here is what will likely interest you. If you buy a 4-quart slow cooker, that's enough for a frying pan that weighs about 4 pounds. You could probably put a 4.5lb cannon in there, but it will be very convenient and may not work as well as you would like. I have kids with sunken feet and I think I will be looking for a 6 liter slow cooker soon. In addition, when preparing a roast, put it on low heat and leave for 8 hours. Yes of course you could use a higher temperature and bring the inside to 160F and eat it but it won't be the same. Trust me on that. I made notes. As for the stove, I really like it: it's easy to clean, it's a practical size and it's versatile. The only thing I would ask Hamilton Beach to change is to add a power LED or something that is clear from across the room when it's on.
