I was nervous applying this material to my brand new aniline leather sofa. This sofa is the most expensive piece of furniture I've ever bought, so I was afraid to smear anything on it. However, after a few small squirts, I decided to take a chance. The sofa I have is a very common medium orange skin color, not dark but not light like terracotta but less red. The sofa was purchased from West Elm and was incredibly soft. After applying this thing I wouldn't say it darkened, but the color changed the same way dry skin does after applying lotion - less ashy? The biggest change was the texture of the skin. It was almost velvety soft and felt more like normal skin - a little firmer, a little shiny and less velvety. I suppose it's because the porosity is reduced, but the downside is that once we have humans I don't have to worry as much about humans leaving greasy fingerprints on them.
