If you're stuck in an Ikea zombie apocalypse and need screws to build something, you're "screwed up! "

When shopping at Ikea, people intuitively take the Fixa box when buying modular shelving from Ikea (Algot in my case) because Ikea knows how to fool you that this is a general store for home goods when You bring these home bastard, you'll soon find that the screw heads aren't cut properly so your drill bit doesn't have a good grip causing it to slip and accidentally break the screw, resulting in a bitch and a half being unscrewed in the future. Plastic dowels are so thin that they will deform if not tapped gently. I actually had bad luck when one of them twisted while screwing my Algot system and popped out, ripping through a piece of drywall and deforming the anchor into that nasty little ball behind the screw. My SO had an older box and I compared the anchors and the old anchors actually had a harder plastic which was a bit more durable (but still poor quality). And what worries me the most? NOT ENOUGH ANCHORS! You will receive approx. 20 pieces of each anchor. Well, let's count, if you have three holes with 20 dowels, that means you have a total of 60 dowels for 200 screws. WHAT ABOUT THE OTHER 140 ANCHORS? Once again, Ikea manages to make its products minimally functional. Rather than being lazy I suggest just going to Home Despot or Lowes to get some legal screws with some legal anchors with actual weight restrictions. specified to prevent your shelves from collapsing on you. Of course, they're not pretty and well-packaged, and there are a few things you need to "figure out" (rather than pick up and leave), but this will save you a lot of headaches.
