Review on Brinno TLC200: Compact Time Lapse Video Camera for Work From Home, Self-Isolation & Quarantine by Tim Burns

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Cool camera with some weaknesses.

I've been trying to upload videos from the camera to the computer using a USB cable for two days. Then I learned from another review that the USB cable is for external power only. I had to buy a card reader and remove the SD card from the camera every time to transfer the video to the computer for viewing. The poorly written manual and description of this camera on Amazon should make that fact clearer. I was very upset during these two days and almost returned it. Another problem is the small LED that blinks during recording. It's impossible to see outside in bright light and you really don't know if it actually takes the pictures you need. A brighter and larger LED would help. Having overcome the learning curve, I'm very happy with the videos I've made with him. I highly recommend you to buy an IKEA egg timer to record videos (up to 360*) with the camera mounted on it. It's less than smooth sweep, but it works. You can find examples of videos created using this technique on YouTube. I am very happy that the battery of the Brinno TLC 200 lasts a long time. I would recommend this fun gadget to anyone who enjoys playing with time-lapse videos. I was also pleased that the video from this camera can be edited in my Pinnacle Studio HD Ultimate Collection program to add music and other effects. Also install a 32GB SD card so you have plenty of space for your creations. I wish this neat little camera was waterproof. Maybe some features will be improved in the next model. Until then, I'll enjoy what I have.
