Review on ๐Ÿบ EcoVessel BOSS Vacuum Insulated Large Travel Growler Bottle โ€“ 64 oz Stainless Steel Thermos with Wide Mouth Cap and Infuser Filter for Water, Beer, and Tea by Shelley Highter

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Leaking water bottle. Then it is "useful "!

Unlike most people I bought 3 of these for work here in the Australian outback, 2 in stainless steel and 1 in blue. I always try to buy the best at the best price but ultimately I'm looking for durability and something that does its job really well, looks, style etc. I don't fit into the equation myself. As with everything I buy I've looked at the BOSS specs and researched as best I could, well not quite as well as I haven't been able to read ALL the reviews here on Revain and if you do you will find that there are two constant problems with this product. First, the handle can easily break, and second, some bottles leak. Now call me crazy, but if I were going into the water bottle business, I would make a list of the functions I want my bottle to perform, and at the top of that list, at the peak, would be number one. will "not leak". This is especially true given my legal obligation to care for consumers who in some cases (like mine) depend on their lives NOT flowing. Now let me say that the stainless steel versions aren't being phased out yet, but I rarely use the handle to carry them, so I can't comment on this site. The blue leaks no matter how hard I tighten it, and of course we all know these gaskets shouldn't be overtightened anyway. Let's just say, even if I could tighten the vise in my shed, what good would it do if I had to lug the vise around to open it again. What should I do now? I have a useless water bottle that will probably cost twice as much as American consumers if it ends up in Australia. I have to pay a fortune to ship it back to the US as you can't just install a replacement cap (when the replacement cap seals anyway!). the defective product? It's just not good enough.

Pros
  • Wide range
Cons
  • Expensive insurance
