With very good illumination, you can still get decent photos, but with a weak one, the same iphone 5s took better pictures! And modern iphones are definitely better . But as a camera in normal or good light, this is a very worthy device! It shoots very high quality! Filmed in the mountains in 4K and the picture is not worse than filming on the Discovery Channel!
