I am a beginner carpenter. My father-in-law, who has been a master ever since. After he left, I decided to take up the craft to share this passion with him. Woodworking requires two skills that don't always come to mind. It's patience and precision. This product allowed for a more consistent depth when using a router table. There are other products that do the same. Many of them have digital displays that need recalibration and are difficult to read. This fixed depth product is easy to use and offers excellent consistency. I just pick up the bat. Fine-tuning the height of the router is not required. Saves time and nerves. For a beginner, this saved time and blessed my patience. A welcome addition to my wood shop.
